One weakness with many blog engines, Subtext included, is that it is difficult to change the tags and categories for multiple entries at a time. In general, most blog engines streamline the workflow for tagging and categorizing a single blog post. Fortunately, Marco De Sanctis, a friend of Simo (a core Subtext Developer) wrote a nice application that you can use to bulk categorize and tag multiple posts. With the announcement of the 1.9.5 release of Subtext, I thought I should talk about the new tagging and tag cloud feature. You can see it in action in the sidebar of my site. To implement tagging, we followed the model I wrote about before. Tags do not replace categories in Subtext. Instead, we adopted an approach using Microformats.
