Stumbling around the net, I ran into the “funny verticals” meme. These are typically a vertical strip of screenshots pulled from a movie or television with funny captions tacked on. If you do an image search for “funny verticals”, you’ll see a whole slew of them. Be forewarned, there are some very crude and offensive ones. Yesterday, I wrote a post that contained the phrase “BFFs Forever” in the title. Commenters were quick to point out the redundancy of “Forever” in the title. Nice - BTW, your title is redundant, so your title reads “IronRuby and ASP.NET Best Friends Forever Forever” Thanks! But I had made the very same point in that post. And for those that don’t know, BFF is an acronym for Best Friends Forever. Yes, the “Forever” is redundant in the blog title, but it’s just how people use it. ...
My family and I recently moved into our new home after a two month stay in temporary housing. One of the perks of moving is when your stuff is delivered from storage, it feels like Christmas again. “Oooh! Look at all the boxes I get to unwrap. Hey! I have a Stereo just like this one!”.
I have a tendency to get distracted by the things I’m unwrapping. For example, I found a few of my old college Math textbooks. I started thumbing through the Complex Analysis, Abstract Algebra, and Number theory books and they seemed like total gibberish to me....
At the risk of embarrassing myself and eliciting more groans, I am going to share a joke I made up for my Code Camp talk. I was inspired to come up with some humor based on Jeff’s Sesame Street Presentation Rule post. I fully understand his post was addressing something deeper than simply telling a gratuitous joke in the presentation.
The context is that I just finished explaining the various dependencies between the Model, View, and Controller within the MVC pattern.

With Father’s Day fast approaching (June 17 this year), and now that I have joined the hallowed ranks of fathers, I thought I’d have a little fun writing about something I posted on my blog two years ago, but has recently popped up on my radar. Last night I watched the premier for a new show called Thank God You’re Here. It’s a sketch improv comedy show starring various comedy television and movie stars, who have to bluff their way through a scene. They are given costumes, a set, but no script.
The title of the show derives from the fact that the first line of each skit is "Thank god you’re here!"
I love improv comedy and I thought Neuman from Seinfeld was great as well as the dad from Malcom in the Middle. You can watch the premier online.

I’m going to buck tradition and start a new craze just because I mean to. Let’s call it, blogging while buzzed. Perhaps it will be the next meme, fad whatever, but this won’t be the happy byproduct or unintended consequence of an event, but the sole purpose of this blog posting.
