Yay! More Gratuitous Special Effects For My Blog - Reflections!

From the 37 Signals blog I find out that reflections are the new dropshadows.  Unfortunately I didn’t get the memo, but at least there is a nice simple javascript library to add reflections to images.

How long will it take someone to write a Windows Live Writer plugin to do the same?

So if it is working correctly, the image here should have a reflection.

A picture.

UPDATE: Doesn’t seem to align quite right for me in Firefox, but looks great in IE.

Don’t you love jumping in on the latest fad? What will be next? BlackVelvet.js?

LOL!

I guess it's better late than never! Welcome to 2005! :)

Apple started doing reflections in the iLife applications and in OSX 10.4 with iChat (Reflections done in real time with video). And you can also see this is in iTunes 7 with your album art.

I much prefer the old drop shadow or stacked picture effects. Reflection is too strong an effect to use indisriminantly.

@Niels - Well I'm always behind the back in the graphics side of things.

@Joe - I agree, and it doesn't look good in firefox. This may be the one and only time I use it. Was fun to try though.

Yeah I kinda over it myself. It's been abused so much that it's lost its cool effect!

The picture looks ok in Firefox, but it slightly offset to the left. :)

@Ken, yeah I noticed the offset. It is aligned correctly in IE. I don't understand as I haven't done anything unusual there.

What do you have to say?
