Subtext Reaches A Thousand

Subtext Logo Steve Harman reports that Subtext reached 1000 downloads just recently on SourceForge.

That is pretty sweet news. I sort of wish we added some code that asked permission to ping us when someone installs Subtext, but as you can imagine that would be very low on the totem pole of requirements.

We are getting close to a bug fix release that contains some extra goodies. I will set a release date soon. I have just been overwhelmed with work and other events.

I just made a search over google for a text I embedded in my skin, and I found out 4 pages of different websites using my Piyo skin...
that's great: I mean, my skin is not the best skin available, so if I've got 4 pages of results, it mean at least 20-25 blogs areusing my skin. That's great...

Sweet. I found a free icon library. I may use them to spruce up some of the ugly skins a bit.

Congrats! In the same vein as Simone (and I meant to leave this comment earlier), it'd be nice to see a list of sites running on subText (for CS we keep a running list on the forums so that people can check them out to see what can be done w/ the platform).

I just started using it today with SQL 2005 and ASP.NET v1.1. I tried using ASP.NET 2.0, but got an error message. When I searched I figured out that .Text needs v1.1. The other two problems were because I couldn't follow directions... 1) put my connection string at the first spot I saw a connection string in web.config and 2) ran the intall from the server instead of a remote machine.. that caused the links to show the local ip address instead of the domain name. I'm learning C# and ASP.NET after time with PHP and find I need a place to organize my thoughts and what I'm learning. Since other peoples blog's help so much, I figure that maybe in the process of helping myself, I could help others.

Thanks a lot for making this available.
