When the Olympics occurred, one of my favorite DJs spun for the opening ceremonies. Unfortunately I missed it, but I had heard good buzz about his performance. Now he’s come out with a CD called "Parade of the Athletes". I have a feeling that if you liked the music he played for the Olympics, you’ll like this cd.

As you can see at the bottom, I'm listening to their remix of Dido's Thank You which won a Grammy. These guys are one of my favorite electronica bands out there. They're much more in the deep funky progressive house area. Somewhat dark, without being too malicious. I highly recommend you check them out. Especially this Dido remix.

I'm no professional musician, but I thought the acoustics at the Hollywood bowl was fantastic. They've been touting the improved sound with the new shell and improvements. The sound was sharp and clear.
The opening act played an Eastern influenced set with guitar, bongos, and even some Drum & Bass mixed in there. They were accompanied by Indian dancers on one side and break-dancers on the other. East meets west. I don't believe for a second that the break dancers are from this world. I think they are former Gumby rejects in the way they contorted and flipped. Of course,...

I'm trying out this sweet plug-in for the Windows version of iTunes. After installing this plug-in, you can click on the musical notes at the bottom of w.Bloggar and it will insert information about the currently playing song wherever your cursor is located. This page lists plugins for Winamp versions 2,3, and 5 as well as iTunes (the one I'm using).
Now you'll all get to experience (from time to time) my awesome music collection. ;)

Pulled this classic CD out of the crate for a little funky listening today. It starts off with a robotic funky track in "PHD" and progresses through some ragin' rock in "Name of the Game" before settling down into a lush soundscape with "Blowout", my favorite track on the CD.
Though it lacks the commercial appeal of their earlier hit "Vegas", I tend to favor Tweekend probably because of its lack of overexposure.

I've been on a real Anthony Pappa kick lately. Right now I'm listening to Resolution CD 2 Track 12, "Solstice" at home and am blown away at how rich and full it sounds on my piddly Altec Lansing computer speakers. I spend way too much listening to my music turned down real low at work that I don't appreciate how good this stuff can sound in the a half way decent environment.
Of course, I'd love to hear this in a PROPER environment. I need to look into getting a real sound system. My father-in-law is a Sony manager/engineer in Japan...
